I can't help but just look at Sony and lower my head in shame. Granted the "free entertainment content" will probably be decent, but one free month to already-users of PSN and newcomers? It seems more like a marketing ploy rather than a legit "Sorry we fucked up your shit" to me. I understand Sony is a big company and will do something like this, but come on. You won't even decide on what "entertainment content" your loyal customers that you fucked over will receive! Wtf Sony?
Sony is going down a wrong path if they want to win back trust and ever be able to get PSN off the ground again. They've already fucked up a lot of the trust they had with their customers.
This might just be me, but I just feel that Sony needs to get their head out of their ass and actually give a shit about the customers they just lost. What is your feeling on Sony's "Welcome Back" program?
Update: US Congress is now asking Sony about the attacks on PSN. And they want a reply by May 6th.

I agree, it pretty much is shameless advertising giving away free PSN+ time.
ReplyDeleteI can't be angry when that otter is soooo cute :3
ReplyDeletedoes anyone else get hungry just by seein food?
ReplyDeletethey first pic is really funny, a parody of the social network.
ReplyDeleteLove the last pic, I giggled. On topic though, it looks like Sony is making the best of the situation. While "best" may not really mean "best for the consumer who was screwed over", Sony is really only out for the money. That's their job.
ReplyDelete@Penguin it might be their job, but they wont have that job much longer when everyone gives up on PSN and Sony is left to rot. Personally if this happened to me and I was Sony, I would be sucking the consumers dick to get them to come back. They want money? They have to have people buying the product, and nobodies going to do that when the company has fucked them over this bad.
ReplyDeletewell, free stuff is always great.
ReplyDeleteI think that PSN was already a joke... And this is why I will still stick to PC Gaming, even though Riot games sucks just as bad with maintaining their servers, lol.
ReplyDeleteThe welcome back program is a marketing ploy, the amount of freebies can never make up for what happened.
ReplyDeleteI bet they lost tons of customers after this tbh
ReplyDelete@Beer-Nuts it's a terrible marketing ploy. They hope to attract customers with all this free shit but after that one free month is done they'll have to start paying to keep their "free" games and service. This is IF anyone trusts the network enough to actually play on it again.
ReplyDelete@Xiism They lost millions and millions of customers as well as turned off millions and millions more that could have been customers.
It's one thing to get hacked, but it's another to keep it from the people it effects most for a week and then basically say "Gee guys, I dunno what to do to fix it! Sorry! Heres some stuff that will be free for a month but you'll have to pay for it after a months use."
Good thing I sold my PS3 a while back. Xbox for me.
ReplyDeleteIt's a sad deal. Admit the problem, apologize, move on. Don't drag it out longer than necessary
ReplyDeletea new attack today again psn !
ReplyDelete@dlp12 I aim to please d00d :D Glad I could help!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with free stuff. I'm sure current PSN+ members and especially DC Online players are a bit more mad.
ReplyDeleteRemember when Xbox Live was down a few days during Christmas? We all got free Undertows. Fun game. Sucked for people who already bought it.
I can't wait for some free stuff! But I'm still not sure about he network because it may have been bugged during the process. I understand that Sony would have tried to eliminate all of the problems but the fact that the guys who hacked the networked, were able to hack it. This means that Sony may not be able to find any potential problems. SO I'm a little cautious but never-the-less excited!
ReplyDeleteWow, makes me glad I have a 360 for gaming, and I hope these FTC hearings bring more to light

And I do have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. Could it be just me or does it appear like a few of these remarks look like they are coming from brain dead folks? :-P And, if you are writing on other places, I'd like
